Banking with the Post Office

Amidst the news of bank branch closures, we thought you may find it useful to be reminded of your banking options when using the Post Office network.  Here is some information you may find useful:

  • 99% of UK personal banking customers and 95% of UK business banking customers can withdraw and deposit cash, pay in cheques, check their balance and businesses can get change at any of the 11,500 Post Office branches.
  • There are 1398 post offices in Scotland – 917 are in rural areas (settlements with a population of less than 10,000)

Lots of interesting info in this infographic…

Does this banking information just apply to official Post Office branches or to ‘instore’ branchescas well.
Since our local Post Office closed down and reopened in a shop, some of the services have been ‘dumbed down’ to make it simpler and easier to operate. I thought cheque deposits was one of the services that was lost?
