Scottish Rural Action is proud to be a partner in the Rural Opinion Advocacy and Development (ROAD) project which is funded through the European Rural Parliament and led by ACRE. The ROAD project was launched in November 2018 at the Scottish Rural Parliament held in Stranraer.
The European Rural Parliament ERP expresses the voice of rural people across Europe; and aims to promote self-help and action by rural people, in partnership with civil society and governments. Every two years a gathering of rural people from all parts of Europe is organised. Between the gatherings members co-operate across Europe to identify and report key rural issues, share them at the gathering and work to implement any recommendations.

Working with PLANED, Irish Rural Link, Rural Community Network NI and ACRE, workshops are being held across the UK and Ireland to consider how links can be maintained with rural communities across Europe post March 2019.
A report based on findings from the survey and workshops will be delivered in November at the next gathering of the European Rural Parliament which will take place in Asturias, Spain and all rural people are welcome to attend.
