Campaign Update – Bank Branch Closures and the Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Committee Report

The Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Committee has published their report on bank branch closures throughout Scotland. The committee met on the 19th of June to hear evidence from a range of parties and discuss the impact of branch closures on Scottish communities and individuals.

SRA has been campaigning since January 2018 against the closure of 62 Royal Bank of Scotland branches, predominantly in rural areas. Read the full evidence from our survey here.

The Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Committee addressed a number of issues relating to branch closures and identified the need for more research to be carried out in to the impact of the closures on communities, businesses and individuals. The full report can be read here:
