Funding available to encourage more walking and cycling

Paths for All has launched a new £2 million fund to help more people choose to walk or cycle for everyday journeys in Scotland.

The Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) Open Fund is accepting Expressions of Interest from interested applicants that want to encourage and promote active travel in their area.

The grants, which are between £5000 and £50,000 and will require to be match funded, are open to public, community and third sector organisations. The fund is expected to not only make improvements to the health of the nation, but it will also reduce emissions and traffic congestion.

The Open Fund is an exciting expansion of Paths for All’s existing SCSP programme, which has enabled Scottish local authorities to implement active and sustainable travel behaviour change programmes over the past four years.
