Rural GP services – update

The Public Petitions Committee is currently considering a petition on Medical care in rural areas which raises concerns expressed by patients and GPs about the new GP contract, which potentially discriminates against rural healthcare provision. Find the petition here. 

Scottish Rural Action was asked to respond to the Public Petitions Committee, specifically on the design of the contract and how it might affect recruitment and retention GPs in rural areas. You can view our response here.
