How can a Last Provider Fund support rural & island Scotland?

-

Overview

Join us for a one hour open discussion to help design the Scottish Government's Last Provider Fund. This will be followed by SRA's AGM.

7.00 to 8.00pm - Last Provider Fund workshop

In its Programme for Government 2026-2031, the Scottish Government announced a Last Provider Fund to support the sustainability of the last-remaining shops and pubs in rural and island communities.

During the workshop, we will hear presentations from:

  • Julie Walker, Tobermory Pharmacy
  • TBC, West Ardnamurchan Community Development Company

The presentations will be followed by Q & A and a facilitated conversation around the spaces and services that are your own community's 'last providers'.

What could a new fund do to support their sustainability?.

Your views will help shape the Scottish Government's early thinking on the fund design.

8.00 to 8.30pm - Scottish Rural Action Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Last Provider Fund workshop will be followed by SRA's 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), including the appointment of new Directors. A full agenda will be circulated.

SRA members and non-members alike are welcome to stay!
